The editors of Chief Learning Officer magazine announced this week the organizations selected to receive the first-ever CLO LearningElite designation.
Inclusion on the 2011 LearningElite list recognizes these employers as leaders in providing exemplary workforce development programs that deliver positive business and human resources results.
Developed under the guidance of chief learning officers and senior workforce development practitioners, the CLO LearningElite is a peer-based benchmarking initiative that utilizes best practices in evaluation to objectively assess the scope and value of the learning and development services that companies provide. The LearningElite designation recognizes excellence in five key performance indicators: learning strategy, learning execution, learning impact, business performance results and leadership commitment.
Organizations from a broad cross-section of business, education and government applied and the list of companies selected includes high-profile corporations and world-renowned market leaders, as well as smaller organizations and entrepreneurial enterprises.
“From the tremendous number and variety of companies vying to be selected as LearningElite organizations, it is apparent that there is a great thirst for a benchmarking effort like this in the industry,” said Norm Kamikow, president and editor in chief of MediaTec Publishing Inc., which publishes Chief Learning Officer magazine.
“With the dramatic shifts and challenges of the current economy, workforce learning and development remains a top priority for competitive companies across all industries. The LearningElite program is designed to do more than publicly recognize outstanding learning organizations,” said Kamikow. “Our aim is to promote the critical role that learning and development plays in organizational success and support organizations in achieving best-in-class performance. The LearningElite provides powerful benchmarking data that can help lead every organization to excellence in learning and development.”
Organizations named to the LearningElite will be honored March 27, 2011, at a gala dinner preceding the opening of the Spring 2011 CLO Symposium in Amelia Island, Fla. They also will be featured in the June 2011 issue of Chief Learning Officer magazine.
